Samsung Tab S8: Better than the iPad?
This year tech has been great IMO. Especially knowing that the Apple iPad has been loved by many including myself.
Here I’m talking about why I’m in love; with this year’s Samsung Galaxy Tab, over the iPad, or any table out there.
I’ve loved the Samsung tab, as much, as I love iPod. Over the years Samsung Tab has come a long way, yet it has never been my go-to tab for myself, or to someone, I would recommend.
This time around, things have changed for the better, I would say; it’s a good time to get the Samsung tab, over the iPad. Only if you don’t want to get into the Apple ecosystem, or don’t prefer it much.
As with this year’s Samsung tab, things feel more like using an iPad, yet 100x better.
The key factor is Samsung Dex, and for me LumaFusion. Since I’ve been using LumaFusion, since the time, I’ve got to know about it.
I can assure you a few things, with lumaFusion.
It will be the best video editing app on Samsung Tab, or iPad for that instant.
Knowing LumaFusion as an app, they’ve managed to optimize its app, well on any iPod. The same would be on the Samsung tab hopefully. Especially coming to my other reason, why I’m in love with the Samsung tab this year. It’s One Ui, and what it has to offer in the long run.
So as long, as the One Ui update supports, the current Samsung Tab lineup, that is how well LumaFusion will handle it great. Just can I’ve seen it on the budget iPad.
Here’s what I love about the Samsung Tab.
Design.
Since its inception, Samsung tab design has improved every year. This time; it feels wholesome IMO, especially with the different sizes it has to offer.
Software.
Samsung has gotten better with its software over the years, yet I’ve got a few things, that I’m not sure if I’m missing out on something, or it’s there on the Samsung tab, the App draw.
I’d used one of the Samsun tabs, recently, but I couldn’t find it, the App draws on it. Not sure if it was due to Less in number of Apps on the tab, or if I was missing out on something, that was different from the Samsung smartphone version of One Ui.
Hardware.
It’s rare, I talk about this, yet this’s my nitpick. I’ve noticed that, one of the problems I faced on a Samsung tab, is the button placement. That has an On/Off button, with the Volume button closer together.
Using them in landscape mode, makes it harder to know, which button is which, especially while using a case with it. I’ve ended up offing the Samsung tab, and then controlling the volume switch.
I might’ve, had this issue with the portrait, as well. The build of the tab is as good, as any Samsung has been with its devices.
My overall thoughts on the Samsung Tab S8.
Samsung Tab overall is a great tablet to have. It’s one of the only tables that can make you appreciate having it, even with its flaws. The main reason, being is Samsung Dex. It’s quite functional, and productive. It’s one of the devices, you wish it iPad could do even better.
Yet the Samsung tab takes the lead, not just in innovation, but as well in usability.
Here’s what I’ve to say about the Samsung tab.
Pros.
It comes in 3 different screen sizes. All offer 120hz across the lineup with Dex Support. The best part is, you get a stylus pen without paying extra. Like one would’ve to do with Apple Pencil.
It has Quad Speakers, with 5G Support. Alongside side Wi-Fi.
It’s the first Samsung tab to support, a full-blown up editor suite with LumaFusion.
My personal favorite, being, that this comes with Samsung One Ui. As well it has got a longer software and security support. Which would not just be helpful in usability, as well, as value for money, at the time of purchase. Since, you don’t need to choose which size, is over functional, you’ve to get it for yourself. Since Samsung has always been neutral about its offering, without making it feel overpriced.
I would’ve said: that if it was a few years back. Due to App limitations, and software support.
As well usability was limited.
Cons.
I really can’t find any con, with the Samsung tab. tho I’ve got a nitpick about how the camera has a notch.
Rest, not much. Though I do wish more apps come to the Android Play store, so they could make use of this tablet.
My personal take on Samsung Tab, and how, I would’ve used it.
Personally, I would’ve gone with the base model, with the 11-inch size. In black.
I can’t, as much as if I would’ve used the Samsung stylus. For me, it’s no use on the Samsung tab, even if LumaFusion could make it a bit easier for me.
I wish, the next Samsung tab camera layout is built inside the table, as we’ve with the iPad.
I personally don’t see myself using dex much, yet occasionally, while travelling, since it would make working on whatever I’ve, done a bit easier.
I really can’t justify the Samsung tab for myself, yet for someone who loves tables, more than the phone. I could see this, as a great alternative to the iPad in general. Since dex could come in handy for a few people over the iPad.
There’s no denial on the fact, the iPad would feel a lot more productive if you’ve more than one Apple device.
Same, if you’re into the Samsung ecosystem.
