Pyaasa: A Masterpiece That Speaks to Every Soul Movie Review.

Pyaasa is a movie that was so ahead of its time. Even now, it’s a movie you’ll resonate with in many ways. It talks about how life is and how things around you change with time.
It may be a story about a poet, yet it goes to show how one person will resonate with your thoughts, even before they know you well enough.
Storyline, and Ensemble cast.
This movie might be Black, and white, yet it’s cinema, that’s for all age groups. A movie, that talks about life, love, betrayal, and most of all. How, one might learn to be alone, even if there’s no joy from within.
If you look at the storyline, and how this movie progresses, from one scenario to another. You’ll see, how much has not changed over the years. Let it be, judging the book by its cover (In this case, the Protagonist) and his poems. Only to realize, that one might not just be awestruck, knowing, someone values their
existence in this world we’re in.
We often know ourselves, just the way we know our craft. in any form of Art: Poetry, Novel, Painting, Music, or cinema.
We find our work, not just in people, but also in those, who are inclined towards our own world, some become the love of our life, and some want to stay with us forever. A journey, that shares not only memories together, as well mutual understanding for one another. At times, it’s not the wealth; that matters, rather: the heart that connects together, with the soul’s intention. Knowing, togetherness is what matters, more than the outcome.
This movie showcases, how one piece of art in poetry, is more powerful in its words, that you forget, the one, who even wrote it, let alone: not knowing their lifestyle.
The movie beautifully portrays the lead protagonists, getting to know each other, in the most whimsical way. Even the beauty of the song is spoken, just in the eye expressions. And later, getting to know, about each other our life.
Thus, the Journey inception showcases, how one work, and individual identity, can be either tarnished or be remembered after its dismissal. The only ones, that truly know you, are the ones, who have seen you in the darkest, in the silence. Those, that wish to see you happy, just the way they’re.
Guru Dutt, as Vijay: This is a testament to how great of an actor, director, and maestro he is, not just for the people in his era, but also for the us. A character of Vijay, as a protagonist; goes to show, how deeply a character can feel every human emotion, yet no soul is by his side, in his creative venture, as a poet. Those who know him closely, don’t appreciate his presence, as those who value him, are his friends, and people who have stood by his side. As we get to know his journey, as a poet, and a lover.

Waheeda Rehman, as Gulabo: Who would’ve thought, to get an opportunity; to work with one of the finest Director, actors, and visionaries of Indian Cinema? In a debut Movie. It feels, so picturesque, to see Waheeda Rehman, as Gulabo. She truly encapsulated; the essence, of not just a supporter in hard times, in Vijay’s life. As well as a lover. The small details of how wealth, over-understanding, and care of human connection, are more important. Then your entitlement to worldly life.
Johnny Walker, as Abdul Sattar: We all wish we had a friend like, him. Who’s comical, yet understanding? Who’s passionate about his work, and his close ones. The portrait of Abdul Sattar, by Johnny Walker. Goes to show, no matter how life is with us. We need to live every moment in life as if we have the one, that has peace within us. Then looking for it, with those. Who wishes to live in a fast-paced world?
Songs, and its visuals.
Just as the movie encapsulates you into the life of the protagonist. You also, see a visual representation of different walks of life. Once that either don’t appreciate your journey in this life. The once, with all the wealth, has never understood life. Love is not about who you know, but rather who truly understands you in silence, and is willing to stay by your side.
Each song, talks about different walks of life, as well; as the journey of the poet, from the inception to the climax.
Each song is so ahead of its time, with its lyrics, and visuals. That one might just wish to go back in time, and truly cherish life, to the fullest. In any way, it can. Life should be, about not just knowing one another, but also having mutual understanding, and a keen vision, for own individual aspirations, and dreams.
After all, life is not just about living one own dream, but rather; living it together.
My thoughts on Pyaasa.
A movie, every generation of people, from all walks of life. Should, binge-watch it, at least once. In Life
The movie is not just about cinema, it’s about life, in the most fusty way.
More Pyaasa.
