Uunchai movie review: A Classic tale of Friendship and Love.
Uunchi.
This movie is not just about friendship, it’s about the last wish a friend had, to go with his friends. To MT Everest. This movie is so heart-touching in so many ways; you get to know about life, in a beautiful way.
This movie talks about how friendship should be, how everyone has an identity of their own, a self-discovery, between generations’ mindsets, and the upbringing of life, with parenthood.
Every scene; from down the memories lanes, to capturing the essence of life. You at times feel. This’s how life should be, no matter what the odds one might feel in life.
Each character has his, or her story that gets unfold, as the storyline goes ahead, back, and forth. The movie talks about: Hope, questions over experience, and most of all. To give one another, no matter what the outcome might be…
It almost feels like this movie was made for senior citizens; though in a way, it’s, for us, as well. As to how we’ve conflicts within are surrounding. How we must lead a safeguarded life, even if one is willing to take a step toward, what makes us happy.
Here’s what you need to know more about the movie, than just reading, this blog.
Storyline, and narration.
The storyline is so upfront, yet the storyline is intertwined, between many layers that get unfold, as we get to know about each character, and where they come from.
The whole storyline feels so desi, that even one that never, wishes to speak about the Ester-eggs. Knows what the movie, is telling about ourselves, and our Indian culture as a whole. Unity and understanding can go a long way. Even if things might not go as we thought they might.
It talks about India’s independence, and the people that made the nation proud, with their own journey towards making India as we know it.
To me personally knowing, as little we appreciate life, and how little we’re to understand our own self.
The movie talks about, different walks of life, that we come to see today, and what we’ve seen since our childhood.
The Ensemble cast, and visuals.
Hand-down, this has been such a treat to watch, cinema, and its medium evolve. That, any cinema buff would enjoy watching veteran actors together in a role, that’s so themselves. Then what they’ve been known for over decades in the film industry.
The most fascinating part is, as much this movie is about friendship, life, family, and upbringing. It goes to show further more, how each cast member has set an identity of themselves, before becoming cult veteran actors.
The visuals in this movie, are far from, breathtaking, rather the effort taken to have these visuals be so wholesome. Each frame of the film is filled with little details, which make the movie-going experience even more entertaining, and an emotional roller coaster to binge-watch.
Music.
If there’s something, that should be given more credits. It’s the song lyrics, the singer, and other people involved in making the music touch the heart, with leaps, and bounces.
My take on this movie.
It’s for the 1st time ever Bollywood has made a film, that has left a lasting impression, not just now, as well this movie is going to be a cult classic for so many reasons, that binge-watching this movie, years later. You will know, how life was, is, and will continue to enrich us with the beauty of life.
I like how this movie has, a classic cult Bollywood touch to it, with its storyline, and music, is in sync, without making you feel, this’s just a movie.
If Bollywood movies have set a certain benchmark, each decade, then this movie is one of them that has been set in today’s era. Essentially in a time. We’ve lost to express ourselves, within our reach, rather than tell someone, we know hardly.
The movie also shares an important message with us. That, never dwell on something, that’s here to stay only for a while, instead embrace it with love…
